Hardback book printing
When ordering a circulation, the author strives for both savings and quality. They want it to serve for a long time and look more decent than a common booklet or other pocket alternatives. Hardcover book printing is the best choice to hit the target. Hardbacks are great for family libraries where fiction holds a major space on the bookshelves. Embossed and laminated covers made of various materials can turn the whole thing into a real jewel.
High quality hardback book opens flat 180 degrees without being affected, is convenient to read and never shuts down at the wrong time. This is a classic option for mass-market literature, including children's publications, serialised fiction, and specialised texts (textbooks, manuals, academic literature).

Types
- Case-bound.They consist of folded sections that are sewn together with thread and glued at the back and laminated cardboard sides, full-colour or monochrome. Their spines may be rounded or flat. For decoration, various techniques are used, including foil stamping in different colours, embossing, UV coating, glitter varnish, metallic and screen printing, 3D varnish, and 3D foil. The sides are printed using digital or offset methods adding matte, glossy, or textured film. For a more striking appearance, foil stamping is applied over the laminate. This type effectively combines quality, appearance, print run, and relatively low cost. It is suitable for medium to large print runs. By minimising additional processing, the price remains low.
- Perfect binding. The pages are glued and inserted into the hardback featuring less opening flexibility compared to classic hardbacks. The cover consists of a cardboard sheet that is wrapped and laminated. It can be finished with any popular types of decoration.
- Integral binding is a low cost imitation of the conventional hardback type. It is a bookbinding method where the sides and spine are made from a single piece of material. This seamless, durable and nice-looking book type is popular in the areas where the volume’s weight and price must be low (educational literature, reference manuals, travel guides). Such books are less durable than hard-covers, but more durable than soft-covers..
Benefits
Ordering
If you want a high-quality publication that will serve you well for a long time, which is pleasant to hold, open, read, or give as a gift, it is better to choose a classic hardcover binding.
When placing an order for a print run, keep in mind that the process of making a hardcover is more labour-intensive than a soft-cover, which increases the final cost per book. Production Technology
The following stages can be highlighted in the production of hardcover books:
- Printing the text on paper;
- Assembling the book (inner pages);
- Creating the cover from cardboard: 2 side pieces and a spine. The main material is applied to the spine. The cover can be made from any material;
- Assembling: inserting the block into the case;
- The final stage is additional glueing and pressing for a strong bond.
